Story of Oskar Schindler
"If you saw a dog going to be crushed under a car, wouldn't you help him?" Oskar Schindler

To many Jewish people, Schindler was their last hope between surviving or being killed by the Nazis. Oskar was just an ordinary man, just you like you and I, he was full of flaws. Oskar wasn't the likeliest of heroes, sure he had lots of money, but he didn't start off as a legend. Schindler started as a spy working for the Nazis, gaining information for the German military. After his death sentence by the Czech for spying was revoked, he made his second chance at life worth while. Oskar secured a factory that manufactured munitions for the war and higher a Jewish accountant who linked him to a Jewish community to staff the factory. Starting with 45 employees, it quickly grew to 1,700, which were about half Jewish people. At first he hired Jews because they were cheap workers, but after hearing about the Nazis hatred for Jews, his attitude changed. When the Nazis began to relocate some of his Jewish workers to labor camps, several hundred of them, Oskar raced to the train station and confronted an SS officer. He argued that his workers were essential to the war effort and they needed to stay to work at his factory. After several minutes of arguing, Schindler convinced the SS officer to free them and escort them back to their factory. In doing this, Schindler essentially saved all their lives.
